Miguel forms part of the firm's Corporate and Finance practice group, and apart from general corporate and commercial law, his main specialised areas of practice include taxation, finance, iGaming and land-based gaming, providing assistance primarily in areas of domestic and international tax advisory and tax restructuring. Miguel also assists in advising clients on matters relating to remote gaming law, and on the corporate law aspects of a wide range of transactions including corporate finance and M&A.
Miguel was recruited as a Trainee with the firm in July 2016. Later that year, he graduated as a Doctor of Laws from the University of Malta, after submitting his thesis entitled ‘The 2015 amendments to Council Directive 2006/112/EC and their effect on e-services in Malta, specifically the gaming industry’. In 2017, Miguel was appointed as Associate.
