Michael Buhagiar

A senior associate in the Financial Services Team Michael has assisted clients on a number of corporate and finance transactions; including the loan agreements; corporate finance comprising both equity and debt arrangements; he also advises on regulatory issues in the Funds and Investment Management sectors in support of the Financial Regulatory and Compliance team.  He has been involved in advising a number of corporate clients in M&A transactions, in both the corporate and financing aspects; other M&A transactions on which he has assisted include the recent acquisition by a major leading retail business in Malta having instruments listed on the Malta Stock Exchange.  He also assisted the Malta Development Bank and Bank of Valletta plc in the preparation and implementation of their SME and Family Business Guarantee Schemes which are aimed at facilitating access to bank finance for small to medium size businesses.
