The Note offers an overview of Malta’s legal framework for data retention and can be downloaded via the link below. It covers key sectors including Companies and Financials, Employment, Health and Safety, and Sales and Marketing, and provides detailed guidance on different types of records. For each record, the Note specifies whether it is statutory or recommended, the minimum and maximum statutory storage periods, the statutory start date and the recommended retention period, amongst other details.
