At the launch of Camilleri Preziosi’s new Level 5 Suite — a new suite of front office capabilities and facilities housing the firm's public areas and conference rooms, with views overlooking Marsamxetto Harbour — the firm announced that Donald Vella will become its Managing Partner with effect from 1 January 2027, succeeding Louis de Gabriele, who will step back from the role after leading the firm for many years.
The handover marks a natural and planned evolution in the firm's leadership. Louis de Gabriele will remain at Camilleri Preziosi, continuing to work closely with clients and to support the development of the firm's lawyers.

"This is not a departure — it is simply the next step," said Louis de Gabriele. "A firm like Camilleri Preziosi is not defined by any one individual; its strength lies in its people, its culture, and its ability to renew itself. I have seen the next generation of the firm's leaders develop into exceptional lawyers and partners, and the time has come to begin handing over the reins, starting with the managing partner role. I intend to remain closely involved, focused on what I have always found most rewarding: working with our clients and supporting the development of our younger lawyers."
Donald Vella said: "It is a privilege to take on this role and to build on the foundations Louis has laid over so many years. Our priority is continuity for our clients and our people, and I look forward to working alongside Louis, who remains very much part of the firm, as we continue to grow."
