On the 4th October 2018, Malcolm Falzon, who heads the Camilleri Preziosi Blockchain team, will be a participating in a panel discussion at the 2018 Malta Maritime Summit, held at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Valletta, Malta between the 1st and 5th October 2018.
The event attracts ship-owners, managers, operators, charters, cruise liner operators, brokers, legal practitioners and service providers, financial practitioners and advisors, accountants, financial institutions, banks, fund managers, equity investors, ship agents, port authorities, freight, average adjusters, haulage, Insurance providers, logistics and storage providers, bunkering agents bunker fuel suppliers, ship yards, ship repairers, sale & purchase, forwarders, crewing agents, P & I clubs, hull insurers, ship registration agents, flag state administrators, surveyors, terminal operators and transhipments service providers.
Malcolm has been invited to sit on a panel tackling the topic of “Blockchain / Smart Contracts / VCs”, as part of the day’s programme relative to Maritime Finance, Taxation and sustainability. The day’s discussions will focus on, amongst others, the question of whether ICOs constitute a suitable alternative to raising capital in the ship finance world.
