Diane Bugeja, a Senior Associate at Camilleri Preziosi, has contributed to a recently-launched book on the development of distributed ledger technologies in Malta, entitled: ‘DLT Malta: Thoughts From The Blockchain Island’. Diane’s chapter focusses on use of DLT in finance and explores use cases for DLT in financial services. The chapter also discusses the risks associated with this nascent technology, primarily from a regulatory perspective, as well as offering potential mitigating measures which would allow existing and new market players to embrace DLT as a solution rather than an obstacle.
